— CONTEXT

FROM ONE LOGO TO EVERYWHERE AT ONCE

As soon as the first logo was ready, the rollout began across social media, the website, labels, emails, receipts, and the showroom. It ran for a full year, overlapping every other task in motion. To keep it consistent, I built an 80-plus page brandbook meant to lock the system in place. It was rarely followed, but for a year of doing this entirely solo, it was the only safety net the brand had.

A NEW WEBSITE WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING

The plan was to rebuild on the owner's existing WordPress setup, until I saw it had zero SEO structure and no real design logic behind it. I started fresh instead, building a new site in Divi from a Figma prototype.

From there the scope kept growing. I shot and reworked textures for 300+ products into new templates and mockups in Photoshop — no SEO involved yet, that came later. Products were grouped by family, like Beton Ciré's three variants nested under one parent, and colors split into three groups: Beton Ciré, paint, and metal.

A printed colour chart followed: 120 brand-new shades, researched against international trends and customer favourites, named, hand-mixed on paper, then digitized into every product image. The showroom got new info boards for every product too, printed through an external partner I sourced and managed myself.

— RESULTS

ALL THE PIECES, NONE OF THE PUSH

The new website never went live — my time at the company ran out first, though the finished build still exists in screenshots. One piece did ship at the end of my time there: a rebuilt homepage, pushed out early purely for SEO and a practical guide on how to build the website further. Every asset for the full overhaul existed by the time I left the company and pushing a new look )or perhaps an entire new website) would take just about a few weeks.

— LEARNINGS

DOCUMENT THE APPROVAL

The fix here wasn't design, it was paperwork. I'd keep a dated record of every approval, so a later "I never approved that" couldn't undo months of work. I'd also push for more autonomy to move independently and only loop the stakeholder in for decisions that truly needed him — though given how closely he wanted to stay involved, that was never going to be a clean win.
