Cooking Show Production

Pervin Proeft

During my internship at the local broadcaster BredaNu, I assumed a multifaceted role as the producer, director, and editor of the ongoing TV cooking show “Pervin Proeft.” The showcased example is just one among many produced over the course of a year. In addition to overseeing the creative process, my responsibilities included coordinating meetings with guests, planning schedules, scouting locations, and handling the entire filming and editing process for each episode.

Pervin Proeft” is a short-form cooking TV program crafted by BredaNu, featuring the charismatic Pervin Leenhouts as the host. The show brings together guests from diverse cultural backgrounds to cook, share tips, facts, and stories about each dish, offering viewers a flavorful journey into different cultures.

My journey with “Pervin Proeft” began when I was entrusted with editing an episode. Fueled by enthusiasm, I embraced the opportunity and soon found myself deeply involved in its production. Working alongside talented colleagues, I gradually assumed greater responsibilities, eventually taking the reins of the production process for an entire season. It was a rewarding experience that allowed me to contribute my creative vision and help reshape the show’s format.

This position offered significant creative autonomy, allowing me to not only emphasize the culinary aspects of the show but also to adapt the format to provide insights into the cultural backgrounds, histories, and other pertinent facts about the dishes featured from various countries. This approach added a unique dimension to the show, enriching the viewer experience with diverse cultural perspectives.

In total, I delivered 18 episodes in the spam of a year. Most of them filmed with a DSLR camera and edited using Adobe software.

SEASON 2.5

Natsumi’s Sushi | Part 1

These three episodes served as the start of creative freedom. With season three just around the corner, we needed to design, develop and plan a new format for the show. The introduction, lower thirds, transitions and other animations were still being developed at this time being.
It was here, during these productions where I would experiment with various techniques and designs to develop the upcoming season.

SEASON 2.0

Season 2.0 marks the start of my participation for this TV show. The concept already existed and was mostly involved with filming and editing. Having experienced the production of this show, I was asked to continue its production and develop a new format that would update the progam and give it a fresh new look.

“Bodrum” episodes were my fist ones and actually my very first editting task during my first internship at BredaNu. Although I did (unfortunately) not participate in the filming process, I enjoyed editting it all the same. From this point forward, I would be tasked to continue its post-production.
