— CONTEXT
FROM BEHIND THE CAMERA TO IN FRONT OF IT.
My internship at BredaNu, a local broadcaster, placed me in the role of AV Producer — filming and editing news items, TV shows, and documentaries for daily broadcast. The role occasionally extended further than expected: on several occasions I stepped in front of the camera myself, presenting the weekly news. Between the two sides of the job, it gave me a genuinely complete view of how a small broadcaster actually runs, from raw footage to finished, aired content, and a first-hand look at journalistic practice that's hard to get any other way.

A COOKING SHOW, WITH A SIDE OF CULTURE.
Alongside the news work, I took on producing, directing, and editing duties for "Pervin Proeft," an ongoing TV cooking show, across a full year of episodes. The role went well beyond filming: coordinating with guests, scheduling, scouting locations, and handling every episode start to finish, edit included.
With real creative autonomy over the format, I pushed the show past straightforward cooking content, building in the cultural background, history, and context behind each featured dish and its country of origin. It gave the show a layer most cooking formats skip entirely, and made each episode as much a small cultural piece as a recipe demonstration. The full run, including Season 3 and a selection of earlier episodes, is still up on BredaNu's official YouTube channel under "Pervin Proeft."
Finishing the internship and graduating from Breda University didn't end the relationship. I've stayed connected with colleagues from BredaNu since, and continue volunteering when opportunities come up — covering news items and working live broadcasts like Sanseveria TV and Swim to Fight Cancer, much the same work as during the internship itself, just on a volunteer basis now.
